In the first of LOIM’s Planetary Boundaries webinar series Michael Urban, Chief Sustainability Strategist, talks to Conor Walsh, Portfolio Manager, about the recently launched New Food Systems strategy. This webinar provides a deeper insight into the USD $1.5 trillion investment opportunity that is presented by the evolution of our existing food systems.

 

The team discussed the importance of the Agriculture, Forestry and other Land Use (AFOLU) as a primary driver of planetary boundaries transgressions, and what we see as the necessary transformations within our food systems to sustain a growing global population whilst helping to restore planetary boundaries.

Michael Urban, Chief Sustainability Strategist  

Michael joined LOIM in November 2020 and has been in the industry for over 10 years. Previously, he worked at the University of Oxford as a Research Associate Prior to this, Michael was a Senior Associate at the University of Bristol in Bristol in 2018. 

Conor Walsh

Conor Walsh, Portfolio Manager

Conor joined LOIM in May 2022 and has been managing portfolios for over 10 years. Previously, he worked at Sanlam Investment in London from 2010 to 2021, as an analyst and fund manager. Conor began his career at Bank of America, as an investment banking analyst.
